The forgotten hero of Nepal U-19 team, Prithu Baskota is gearing up himself for a comeback in national team.
A young, talented right-handed batsmen, Baskota made his debut in 2010 for national team.But his bad luck, he had to face many injuries during his period of rise in national team.It has been five years since he is struggling with his injuries for comeback in senior side.
Recently in an interview with Andrew Leonard in a episode of ‘Cricket Season’, he described EPL 2020 as Key for him to unlock the door of national team.
How it feels to move from Chitwan Tigers to Pokhara Rhinos in EPL?
“First of all, I am really excited.Playing for the Chitwan Tigers last year,we failed in qualifiers. We will try to get this year through Pokhara Rhinos.”
You were passing through different injuries since two years, How is your body now?
“I am coping up well,just focusing on my fitness right now. I think things have gone according to plan after those couple of injuries.”
What are your expectation from EPL 2020?
“EPL is a great platform to young players and personally it is a right time for me to showcase my talent for a comeback in national team.”
What role are you going to play for Pokhara Rhinos this season?
“It will be really interesting for me to move in the new team in new season. The team environment is really friendly and everyone motivating one another is the best part.I will be contributing in middle order and put my hand up and do good for the team.”
Are you targeting EPL campaign to get back in national team?
” Yes,of course! As I said earlier it is a great platform and I have to give my 100%. Let’s see if it all goes well ,I would be in national team.”
Once a captain of Nepal U-19 is now struggling to comeback for national side. EPL 2020 will be great opportunity for him to back again in the same field he had left five years ago due to some unlucky injuries.
