Nepal’s Journey After Securing ODI Status?

March-15 2018,ICC grants ODI status to Nepal first time in the history for four years.

Nepal started the journey in One Day International with the series against Netherlands after five months of securing ODI status.

Starting with loss against Netherlands in first ever ODI match,Nepal had managed to secure five victory and five loss till date.

August-3 2018,Nepal secure the first ever ODI victory against Netherlands by just 1 run.

In January 2019,Nepal won the first ever ODI series against UAE. Starting 3 match series with loss,Nepal came back strongly in next two matches.Winning last two matches against UAE by 145 runs and 4 wickets respectively,Nepal brings first trophy to home.


After two years of ODI status,Nepal got the chance to host a ODI series.Nepal played the first ODI in home-ground against Oman in February 5,2020.Nepal started with loss in home-ground too as Oman downs Nepal by 18 runs.

February 8 2020,Nepal secure first ever ODI win in home-ground against USA by 35 runs.Further,Nepal ended the series with two victory in four ODI matches.

Nepal had played just ten ODI matches in two years and ranked in 16th position of ICC Rankings.

Paras Khadka has the highest runs for Nepal in ODi with 315 runs in 10 innings while Sandeep Lamichhane is on the top of most career wickets in ODI for Nepal with 23 wickets in 10 innings.
