Basant Regmi aka crisis man of Nepal was born on April 6 1986(33 years ago from today). Left-arm orthodox spinner, Regmi made his debut in March 2006 in Namibia and is the most consistent bowler for Nepal so far.

1. Basant Regmi started his cricketing career as fast bowler

All of you may be unknown about the starting phase of Basant Regmi. He started his cricketing career as a pace bowler with the ability to swing the bowl.Later, he suffered a accident where his one of the finger get broken which made him to change his style from pace to spin.

Beside this huge impact in his life, he never took a back gear in his cricketing journey and rest is history.

2. Man of the Match in plate Final, U-19 World Cup 2006

Back to 2006, New Zealand’s squad full with star player of modern cricket like Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Tim Southee were defeated by Nepal U-19 in finals of plate championship.

Basant Regmi played an important knock to seal the victory for Nepal. 66 runs with the bat and 3 wickets with the ball was a crucial match winning inning by Regmi. Nepal U-19 was the only associate team to win plate championship and Basant Regmi became MOM of that finals.

3. 100 wickets in World Cricket League

Basant Regmi is the first bowler to take 100 wickets in ICC World Cricket Leagues.He achieved the milestone of 100 wicket against Netherlands in ICC WCL Division 2.

Stephan Myburgh of Netherlands was the 100th wicket of Basant Regmi.
